Dallas-based department store Neighborhood Goods will be one of the first stores to open at Music Lane on South Congress Avenue.

The experiential retailer will open its 10,600-square-foot store on March 13, according to an announcement. Neighborhood Goods said it will open offering more than 40 brands — a final lineup hasn’t been released yet — of apparel, accessories, food and home décor.

The Music Lane space will also feature Neighborhood Goods’ restaurant concept Prim and Proper, which will feature a seasonal menu for shoppers.

Neighborhood Goods has two other stores, in Plano and New York City.

Sustainable fashion brand Reformation is also getting close to opening its doors at Music Lane, according to an announcement, but no opening date has been released.

Music Lane is a major mixed-use development that has been under construction for more than two years at 1011 S. Congress Ave. It will have more than just retail space — the three-building complex has a total of 163,000 square feet, including office space, and 496 underground parking spaces. Music Lane is slated for completion in spring 2020.

Nearby on South Congress, long-awaited Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is opening soon. The shop will celebrate its grand opening beginning at 7 p.m. on March 26. The shop at 1208 S. Congress Ave. will feature banana cream pudding ice cream, an exclusive Austin flavor. It’s dairy- and gluten-free, made with real bananas, coconut cream and vanilla wafer crumbles.

There will be free ice cream at the grand opening. The first 50 people in line will get free swag and founder Jeni Britton Bauer will be there.

North of Austin, 54th Street Restaurant & Drafthouse is coming to Pflugerville.

The company, based in Kansas City, Missouri, has leased a freeway-fronting pad site at Stone Hill Town Center for an 8,723-square-foot restaurant, according to an announcement from developer NewQuest Properties. It’s tentatively slated to open in late 2021. Stone Hill Town Center is a 1 million-square-foot shopping center at the junction of the Texas 45 and 130 toll roads.

54th Street will feature up to 54 draft beers, scratch-made food and signature dishes, including steaks, pasta and seafood.

Jaguar Land Rover North Austin is slated to open on March 2. The dealership is at t 13910 N FM 620.

In case you missed it, Mizzen+Main, a Dallas-based performance apparel company for men, opened Feb. 21 at Domain Northside.

And, south of Austin, Chick-fil-A’s second standalone restaurant in San Marcos opened on Feb. 27. The restaurant is at 1433 N. I-35. It employs nearly 50 people.
